Most solunar apps give a flat rating for each day, and spit out hours before and after moonrise and moonset as periods of "peak" activity.
A study by Auburn and Louisiana State University researchers showed that approach is wrong. Parsing over a million GPS records of White-tailed deer, "Movement with the Moon: White-tailed Deer Activity and Solunar Events" showed that lunar phases and times did affect deer activity, but the relationship was more complex than any existing solunar tables accounted for.
DeerTimes uses the same model developed in that study to provide the most accurate deer feeding activity tables ever. Our data is sourced directly from the US Naval Observatory, and is specific down to the minute and the exact coordinates of your location.
